Rescue of Mechanically Distressed Implants
Although most dental implants are successful and function well for many years, there are times when an implant or restorative component can become compromised due to a loose or fractured screw, connecting abutment, or failing restoration. Correction of these problems ranges from fairly simple to extremely complex, requiring microscopic evaluation and specialized instruments for the implant rescue.
Since 2012, Dr. Cuomo has treated over 70 mechanically distressed implants with a very high recovery success rate. This is attributable to his experience with various implant systems and microscopic visualization of the very small components. Patients referred to Dr. Cuomo for his services are routinely very satisfied when the implant is now "clear" to be restored back into function, avoiding surgical intervention with the associated costs, time loss, and surgical recovery.
